Created new products and added functionality to existing ones. The development environment was Access 2, I was however in charge of testing new environments and assessing the business benefits available. As the company had only two programmers and the client's requirements changed regularly, there was no need to change from Access 2.

I had daily contact with a number of clients, including various insurance related companies, mainly in the City. I worked both on-site and via modem to provide a high level of client satisfaction.

Whilst at BIM I was able to develop some of my more component-based approaches which offered us actual business benefits (such as being able to plug the reporting module into new software). I also introduced the notion of true code re-use by using the Access-AddIn technology, this stretched the capabilities of Access to it's limits. A number of changes also lead to improved performance which was important due to the computing power available.

I was involved in many aspects of the business. For instance, I created the specification for a test server for Windows NT 4 (and Exchange Server) and implemented it.
